How the X-celerator® works . . .

The X-celerator® allows coiled rod to be used on a well at equal or less cost and just as easily as coupled sucker rod. Until now, coiled rod has been more logistically difficult to service than conventional coupled sucker rod.

The operation of the X-celerator is very simple:

  • The X-celerator® is positioned alongside the workover rig.
  • The X-celerator® is picked up with the service rig’s blocks and connected to the rig’s hydraulic system.
  • The service spool is positioned and the rod guide is assembled and positioned. (It takes about 15-20 minutes to rig up to be ready to pull rod)
  • Rod is pulled or run at about 100 feet (30 meters) per minute.
  • The X-celerator® is laid down and service rig is ready to perform next operation.

The X-celerator® is safe and efficient. One man can operate the X-celerator® while the rod is being run. The rest of the crew is available to perform other tasks.
